Agilia sponsors the Teesside Silver Helmet at Redcar Bears Speedway

By Ben Duffill

On Friday 22nd October we were proud to sponsor the Teesside Silver Helmet, which was hosted by Redcar Bears Speedway. Many of our team went up to watch home rider Lewis Kerr win the prestigious event, which is the longest running individual competition in British Speedway and dates back to the 1920’s. Kerr took the crown in front of a bumper crowd, finishing ahead of teammate Charles Wright and Leicester’s Kyle Howarth.

Agilia have been the main team sponsor of Redcar Bears Speedway since 2019, and have sponsored many of the club’s events, including the Teesside Silver Helmet, in prior years. Based in Middlesbrough, Redcar Speedway is run almost entirely by volunteers and attracts close to 1000 spectators every week. The club is deeply embedded within the local community and has supported local charities and good causes for several years, including an annual easter egg drop to children who are poorly in the local hospital. The club also offers facilities to train the future stars of the sport.  We are proud to be associated with the Bears!
